ATHERTON GARDEN
This garden was professionally landscaped several years ago and has a beautiful backdrop of mature trees and shrubs. The owners wanted to add color while saving water. Many of the perennials had grown out or died, and the water-thirsty plants were spread out requiring the entire yard to be watered regularly. We added color with drought-tolerant plants and reduced the plants needing more water to a few smaller borders.
FRONT FOUNTAIN BEFORE
We wanted more color to highlight the fountain and greet their guests
FRONT FOUNTAIN AFTER
New plantings have more color and movement and a "happy" feeling
COLORFUL FRONT BORDER
We installed spring and summer-blooming color to add seasonal beauty that complements the existing shrubs
NEW COLOR FOR BACK YARD BORDERS
POOL BORDER WHIMSY
We added color with a touch of whimsy to the Pool Border. Allium and Knifonia in bright purples and oranges add visible interest from a distance
PATIO BORDER - BEFORE
The Patio Border was not visible from the house, so was not seasonally planted - yet it was often seen from the pool and pool house
PATIO BORDER - AFTER
We added perennials with tall flowers to peek above the patio wall and frame the view from the patio across the lawn. This border will provide year-round color and beauty
